BRU SEA is a 53ft Leopard Power Catamaran based in Nassau, a 2023 build that reaches the shallow, impossibly blue water most Bahamas charter yachts have to admire from a distance.
Her draft is just over three feet. That single number is why she can slip into coves, flats and sandbars that a monohull her size has to anchor half a mile away from, and it is the difference between looking at the Bahamas and being in it.
She runs from Hurricane Hole Marina on Paradise Island, which puts Rose Island, Athol Island and Green Cay within easy reach of a half day, and she carries up to 13 guests with a captain and chef aboard.
The catamaran hull gives her the deck space of a much longer yacht and the stability of something heavier. Guests move around comfortably at anchor, drinks stay on the table, and anyone prone to seasickness has a far better day than they expect.
The flybridge is the social centre, with shade, seating and a clear view over the water. Down aft, the hydraulic swim platform lowers to meet the sea, so getting in and out is a step rather than a climb.
She carries a tender, a Seabob, two stand-up paddleboards, a pull-behind tube, snorkel and fishing gear, a floating mat, pool noodles and beach games. For a 53-foot yacht that is an unusually complete kit, and it means the day fills itself.
Anchor off a reef and the snorkel gear is already aboard. Find a sandbar and the mat and games come out. Nothing is a paid extra negotiated on the dock.
Delivered in 2023, she has the current Leopard interior: three staterooms, three heads, and a bright open salon that connects straight through to the aft deck. Twin Yanmar diesels give her a 17.5-knot cruise, quick enough to string two or three anchorages into a single afternoon.
Bahamas day charters, families, snorkelling and sandbar days, and groups who want shallow-water access and stability over speed and size.
